Tortuguero has a very varied weather: sometimes is humid and/or hot, also the local fauna has to be considered, that is why we recommend:

- When taking a tour, avoid using bright colored clothes, also try to use fresh and comfortable clothes.
- Bring appropriate raingear. (If not possible the hotel can provide raingear.)
- Comfortable shoes or tennis
- Sandals.
- Insect repellent.
- Sunblock.
- Flashlight (for night walks and tours.)
- Hat.
